Here's one that did get published- from a couple of weeks ago in The Spectator.

Choose life

So, there is a new Trainspotting film out- and the original movie from 1996 is on telly right now- and at various times during ad breaks there are adverts for mattresses, with smiley airbrushed couples simpering over poorly manufactured garbage ("Hey! Change your mattress every 8 years, with Mr Mattress! We're open 7 days per week- just round the corner from this cinema!")

I couldn't sell this one.

First Dates

Not drawn much for a while, but I hope to rectify that soon.

In the meantime- here is one of my rejects.

It's supposed to be a modern take on, I dunno, something or other.

Sorry- bit tired. I've been driving around the home counties trying to find a decent Sunday roast.

Summer breeze

Here are a couple of toons drawn way back in August. There is a reason they have not appeared before now. Might be something to do with the subject.

Private Eye magazine puts out their call for Christmas card ideas a good few months in advance. They took one of my ideas for a card. Woo hoo! They also took one of the other designs to use in the festive edition of the magazine- Another woo hoo!

But...

An email from them the other day- sadly they could not find room in the magazine for the other cartoon.

Quite apt really considering the subject.

Fairy Tales

Here's a toon from the Spectator a few weeks back.

My brother loved a good party- and it is currently the party season- those couple of weeks just before Christmas.

Too much wine is drunk- inhibitions gone...

But these days you have to be careful with some traditions.
